RecPokerCoach is run by Wayne Stevens in New Zealand. This page explains, in plain English, what happens to your information when you use the site. Questions? Email [email protected].
When you ask for coaching, the text you enter — hand histories, hand descriptions and your notes on what you were thinking — is sent to our server and then to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, to generate your report. Anthropic handles it under its commercial terms and privacy policy.
We don't store your hand histories or reports on our servers. Your report is shown in your browser and isn't saved anywhere by us — copy it if you want to keep it.
Hand histories usually include screen names (yours and your opponents'). Please don't paste anything else personal into the boxes.
Our server (hosted on Cloudflare) uses your IP address to limit how many requests can be made per hour, and to allow one free session per internet connection per day. This stops abuse. We also keep a count of how many analyses are run and how many different visitors use the site, which involves keeping a list of IP addresses. We use this only to run and measure the service.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — Stripe gives us a confirmation that you paid, and Stripe may email you a receipt.
There are no accounts or passwords. Instead, your browser is given a random ID (saved in local storage), and our server keeps your credit balance and whether you've used your free session against that ID. The ID isn't linked to your name or email. If you clear your browser data or switch devices you'll get a new ID — email us your Stripe receipt or your old Support ID and we'll move your credits.
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, and the Meta Pixel on our homepage to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads. These tools use cookies and similar technology and are run under Google's and Meta's privacy policies. You can block them with your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker; the coach still works.
Under New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email [email protected]. If you're not happy with how we handle a request you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
RecPokerCoach is for people aged 18 and over.
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
